Ingredients
- 4 slices of artisan bread sourdough or ciabatta work well
- 2 large ripe tomatoes sliced
- 8 ounces fresh mozzarella sliced
- Fresh basil leaves
- 1/4 cup balsamic vinegar
- 1 tbsp honey optional
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Place the bread slices on a baking sheet and brush them lightly with olive oil on both sides.
- Toast the bread in the oven for about 8-10 minutes, or until crispy and golden brown, turning once halfway through.
- While the bread is toasting, prepare the balsamic reduction. In a small saucepan, combine the balsamic vinegar and honey (if using).
